Implementing a number of dry ports and logistics areas nationwide

Within the framework of implementing the directives of the President of the Republic to make Egypt a center for global trade and logistics and implementing a number of dry ports and logistics areas at the republic level, the Council of Ministers approved yesterday, Wednesday 3/27/2024, during its weekly meeting, several decisions in favor of the General Authority for Land and Dry Ports, which are: 1- Approval of a draft law regarding granting a commitment to finance, design, construct, exploit, maintain, and redeliver the dry port and logistics center in 10th of Ramadan City, on an area of 250 acres, to the international company “Medlog,” in a partnership system with the private sector. This comes within the framework of stimulating the private sector to participate in infrastructure projects, facilities and public services, as this vital project pushes towards serving the movement of trade through Egypt, and improving the level of logistical services provided at seaports. 2- The Council of Ministers also approved a draft decision by the President of the Republic to allocate a plot of land with an area of 125.2 acres, from state-owned land, in the Cairo Governorate district, in the Shaq Al-Tha’ban area, specialized in the marble industry, for the benefit of the General Authority for Land and Dry Ports. This will be used to establish a specialized dry port, to enhance the investment potential of this promising region.
